Carole is a native New Yorker where she was a judge and exhibiting member of numerous art associations. There, she had her own art center where she gave lessons to children and adults. She has also conducted watercolor workshops at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts; and has given art classes aboard the Cunard, Raddison, and Crystal cruise lines. Her paintings have been displayed at The New York Design Center in Manhattan and her landscapes of Ireland were featured at the Irish Heritage Day at Manhattanville College in New York. Her most recent one-woman show was at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. She has also volunteered with the Heartsong Program doing art therapy and has also been featured in the Gannett newspaper chain.

She is an exhibiting member of the Associated Artists of Southport where she has been a featured artist. Her paintings are also on display at the Sunset River Market Place in Calabash, NC.

Carole’s watercolor paintings are fresh and transparent due to the wet-in-wet technique she often uses. She starts loose and free with large brushes and a limited palette, as mixing the colors is an important part of her artistic expression. She fine-tunes with smaller brushes and glazes. She captures the essence of her subjects, which include flowers, shells, skiers, landscapes, and seascapes. Influenced by the Impressionists’ use of light and color, Carole allows the painting to happen. Taking direction from the paint, often a flower painting becomes a coral reef!
