Beverly Offutt grew up in a family of flower lovers. To her mother, grandmother and great grandmother, every day was a flower-watering day and every visit was a tour of blossoms and new cuttings.
Beverly’s love of flowers was more an artistic appreciation rather than a nurturing instinct. She currently grows a few plants at her home in Southern Pines, NC, but gathers many blossoms from her mother, cousin and friends. She also loves to walk through the woods, spotting wildflowers along the way.
Beverly uses a microwave flower press to preserve the vivid colors and distinct shapes. She tries to match flowers with old frames that she finds in unusual places, combining art with antiquing.
