Liz currently resides in western North Carolina with her husband, glass artist Scott Summerfield and their daughter. They are both full time artists working from their home studios in Bakersville.
Liz earned her MFA from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and her BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has been a visiting artist and teacher at numerous clay facilities, colleges and universities. She exhibits her work nationally and has been featured in Ceramics Monthly and Clay Times. Ceramics Arts Daily has released an instructional DVD featuring Liz’s ceramic process and her work.
My pots are functional, but every day use is not my first concern. I find that my pots fully function just by being in someone’s home – whether they are filled with butter or sitting next to another object on a shelf.
