Originally from Floral Park, N.Y., Mona has been living in the South for more than 25 years. She is the daughter of the late artist Ramona Batsford Bendin, who also exhibited at Sunset River Marketplace for many years.
With more time for projects since her retirement, Mona has returned to the world of sewing with a vengeance, creating a wide range of pillow styles, sizes and designs. “Adding a unique pillow to a chair or bed can tie the entire room together; it’s like adding the perfect finishing touch,” she says.
She doesn’t know what she’ll take on next, but for the moment, Mona’s happy to find new colors and fabrics to pair.
