Pat White

The play of color with color is what defines the watercolors of Patricia V. White, better known as Pat. She prefers painting flowers, wanting to show the beauty of an individual flower or the interaction of several blooms as they relate to each other and their background. She also does beach scenes and landscapes.

She states: “When I was a child the gifts that I got the most enjoyment from were my boxes of crayons. When Crayola started adding more colors to their boxes creating boxes of 16 and 48, I was ecstatic. With the largest boxes it became difficult to choose
the right color. I still have that problem with the colors on my palette. Often I will mix my own color to suit me.”

Pat has spent the last five years studying watercolor with award winning local artist Betty Bee. During the summer of 2007 she studied with artist Susan Duke. In October of 2007 and 2008 she took weeklong intensive workshops with Sterling Edwards, CSPWC, and internationally known artist.

As a member of Waterway Art Association and the Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild you will find Pat exhibiting her work at Art in the Park in April and October. Watch for her at other festivals and at The Dickens Christmas Show in Myrtle Beach, SC. Her work is on display daily at Sunset River Market Place in Calabash, NC.
