Raney Rogers has been painting professionally since 1981 and owns the Acorn Gallery in West Jefferson, NC. Raney was raised in the Piedmont of North Carolina and loves the coast, so it’s no surprise that her work represents scenes from the mountains to the seaside and ranges from broad landscapes to detailed studies of flora and fauna. Her work is in private and corporate collections throughout the world and she travel often to paint en plein air and gather research for the many regions that draw her in.
Rogers works in acrylic, oil pastel and watercolor. She is a signature member of the North Carolina Watercolor Society. She says that painting and teaching art are what she loves to do most. She feels that we are all creative individuals who need to know that it is not only okay to practice our craft, but it is essential to the joy in our souls to do so.
