Having been raised on a tobacco farm in coastal Columbus County, I am proud to claim true North Carolina low country heritage. I particularly enjoy painting the scenes I grew up with…the landscapes, seascapes, lifestyles and the people. The fluidity of watercolors allow me to paint nature’s landscapes expressively and with crisp vivid colors…. whether painting en plein air or in my studio. I like to make an evocative statement about the subject, rather than a simple representation.
A graduate of Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL with continued studies at Roosevelt University and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. After retiring from a career in advertising, my wife and I returned to the low country and live in Southport, N.C.
