Susan Marion was raised in Livonia, Michigan and lived in the area for most of her life. Her love of nature and gardening was instilled at an early age and provides much of her inspiration. Her passion for art and expression led her to Schoolcraft College where she received an Associates Degree in Computer Aided Art and Design under the teaching of acrylic painter, Professor Lincoln Lao. Susan was a member of the Visual Arts Association of Livonia where she studied watercolor under Edee Joppich.
Sue and her husband moved to Cary, NC in 1995 and soon became a member of the Cary Cultural Art Association. While living there she studied under muralist Michael Brown at Meredith College and took a workshop by Ann Salisbury.
In the fall of 1999, the couple moved to Longs, SC. Sue joined Waterway Art Association and has taken workshops by many regionally known artists and instructors. She enjoys taking pictures of coastal scenes and rendering them into paintings. Sue enjoys all creative venues with her hands and started making pottery in 2005 at the gallery under the instruction of Jane Truesdale.
Her work has won awards and has appeared in exhibitions, galleries, and both public and private collections. Her paintings and pottery are currently exhibited in The Sunset River Marketplace; Calabash, NC.
