“To me, the best feeling in the world is for someone to say, ‘Wow!’ when they see one of my creations,” says artist Tony Carr, Jr. His roots originate near the banks of the Savannah River in North Agusta, SC. Inspired by the wonders of nature and influenced by his background in computer graphics, he enjoys creating three-dimensional works of art using a wide array of materials.
Among some of his most exciting creations are copper marine life wall lights, hand-woven copper baskets, wall sculptures, primitive stone-carved garden accents and vibrant glass mosaic mirrors. Many of his creations are charmingly abstract; however, his broad repertoire offers something for all tastes.
Tony is a unique, self-taught artist whose lively pieces have been selling at Sunset River Marketplace for several years. And while he certainly appreciates the sales he generates, according to Tony, “The heart of the matter is I love creating things that make people smile.”
